JAMES FREEMAN
THE LATE MR. JAMES FREEMAN.—
A vacancy in Coxedd and Pearce's Charity has been created by the death of James Freeman, which occurred on Friday. Deceased was second son of the Newbury centenarian, Benjamin Freeman, and inherited much of his father's genial meaner and quiet humour.
Deceased was employed for the long term of 42 years at the Eagle Iron Works, and was in the true sense a good servant. Four years ago he was laid aside by paralysis, and three years since was elected to an almshouse of Coxedd and Pearce's Charity, for which he seemed as if he could never be too grateful in expressing his thanks.
For the long period of 43 years he was connected with Berries Bank Sunday School, of which he was also superintendent. He was buried on Monday, at the cemetery, being borne to his grave by local preachers and fellow-workmen, the Eagle Iron Works also being represented by Mr. Wyse.
