  Headstone: In / Loving Memory of / Emily Mary Ann / the beloved wife of Frederick James Marks. / Died Oct. 25th. 1885: / aged 36 years. / A light is from our household gone, / a voice we loved is stilled. / A place is vacant in our home / which never can be filled. / Also of / Philip Edward James Marks / died June 5th. 1883: / aged 13 mths. / And / Edith Mary Ann Marks. / Died May 31st. 1886: / aged 6 years. / Children of the above. // Footstone: E.M.A.M. / 1885 / P.E.J.M. 1883 / E.M.A.M. / 1886 //
  Good condition but laid down & buried by vegetation
    Emily Mary Ann was born Patience near Bath in 1841 & married Frederick, a Grocer,in 1867. In the 1871 census, Emily is recorded as an annuitant living as a lodger in Bray with her eldest son & a 3 day old baby daughter while Frederick & his brother Thomas were both serving prison sentences in Reading Gaol. He came to Newbury & worked as a prvision merchant in Bartholomew St. They had about 13 children, several of whom died at birth & 2 of whom are buried with their mother. Frederick married again in Yorkshire in 1900 was a colliery manager. Frederick's name is wrongly spelt on the headstone as Frederic Source:
