DEATH OF MISS ARABELLA WILSON
MEMBER OF A WELL-KNOWN NEWBURY FAMILY
We regret to record the death of Miss Arabella Wilson, which took place on Friday last at Catherine-road, Newbury.Miss Wilson, who was 90 years of age last August had enjoyed wonderful health. A week ago last Sunday she had a fainting fit in church and after attention in the vestry was taken home. She was apparently much better, but following a relapse passed away as stated.
Miss Wilson was the daughter of the late Mr. Edward Wilson, who carried on the business of a butcher in Northbrook-street, Newbury. She had lived with her sister,Miss Florence Wilson, who died about 17 years ago. Her brother, Mr. Brice Wilson, at one time captain of the Newbury Volunteer Fire Brigade, is in Australia.
The funeral took place on Tuesday morning, a service being held at ST Nicholas@ Church conducted by the Rector (Canon W.L. Cooper.)
The mourners were Mr. and Mrs. Nicholson, Miss Morre (sic), Miss Izod, Mrs. J.H. Hopson, Miss Godwin, Miss Boys, Mr. Godding and Mr. f. Salway (executors).
