Florence Elizabeth Tallyn
1877-1933
Florence was born in 1877 in Trentishoe, Devon, the daughter of John and Agnes(s) Mogridge (nee Tucker) who were married in 1876 in Devon.
Her father John was born c1844 in Parracombe, Devon, he was baptised on the 2nd March 1845 in Parracombe, the son of Jonathan and Elizabeth Mogridge (nee Dovell) who were married on the 21st March 1841 in Parracombe.
Her mother Agnes(s) was born in 1851, she was baptised on the 26th February 1852 in Kentisbury Devon, the daughter of William (a Yeoman/Farmer) and Matilda White Tucker (nee Radley) who were married on the 19th September 1841 in Ashford Devon.
John and Agnes also had the following children:

In 1881 Florence (3) was living in Middle Dean, Trentishoe, Devon with her parents John (37), a Farmer of 47 acres and Anges (30), her brother Archibald (7 Months) and her grandmother Elizabeth Mogridge (71).
The 1891 census records Florence (13) still living in Middle Dean with her family.
Florence (23) and her sister Mary (18), both Dressmakers, were boarding at Schoolhouse, Reform Street, Barnstable, Devon, with an Emily W Widlake (52), a Caretaker of Schools, in 1901.
Florence married Charles Joseph Tallyn in 1907 in Devon.
(Charles was a Joiner/Carpenter. He was born on the 14th November 1877 in Ilfracombe, Devon, and was baptised (Methodist), on the 15th January 1878 in Ilfracombe, the son of Joseph and Jane Tallyn (nee Reed) who were married in 1875 in Devon).
By 1910 Charles and Florence were living in Craven Street, Newbury, Berkshire.
Charles died aged 32 on the 15th April 1910, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 20th April.
The 1911 census records Florence as a Dressmaker, living at 10 Craven Street, Newbury. Her sister-in-law Annie Mary Tallyn, a Restaurant Manageress and a boarder, Dorothy Clara Baker, a China Shop Assistant were also recorded living with her.
Florence died aged 55 on the 9th June 1933 at 32 Priory Road, Newbury, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road cemetery on the 12th June.
Probate: TALLYN Florence Elizabeth of 27 Craven-road Newbury Berkshire widow died 9th June 1933 at 32 Priory-road Newbury Probate Oxford 29th June to Thomas Sutton Waite retired civil servant. Effects: £785 10s 3d
