c1788- 1863
Sarah Harrison married Amos Butson on 30th July 1805 at St John Horsleydown Southwark. By the following year the family were living in Thatcham as on the 15th June 1806 Sarah gave birth to a daughter, Hannah who was baptised in Thatcham on the 19th October 1806, sadly Hannah died aged 2 and was buried in Thatcham on 5th April 1809.
Two more children were born in Thatcham, Amos on 15th April 1808 (baptised 12th March 1809) and John Marson born 24th February 1810 (baptised 23rd December 1810). Another son, Francis was born c1812 (location unknown), the couple also had three daughters, Mary (baptised 18th November 1813 at St Nicolas Newbury) Ann and Lydia by 1815.
In Joseph Toomer’s 1815 census of Newbury the family were recorded living on the East Side of Bartholomew Street as follows (no ages were recorded for either Sarah or any of the children):

Francis died aged 4 in 1816 and was buried on 21st May 1816 at St Nicolas Church. The parish baptism register for St Nicolas records another son named Francis, son of Amos and Sarah being baptised ten days later.
Amos Butson died aged 58 in 1826 and was buried 6th December 1826 at St Nicolas Church
In 1841 Sarah (aged 50) was living with her married daughter Mary Mayo and her family in Northbrook Street, in 1851 Sara (aged 61) was boarding in Bartholomew Street and working as a Labourer/Pauper then in 1861 Sarah (aged 78) was again living with her daughter Mary and family who were living in Caroline Place Newbury.
Sarah died aged 75 in 1863 and was buried on 20th May in Newtown Road Cemetery
