| Transciption: | EDWARD JOHN DUCKETT The death occurred on Wednesday last week of Mr. Edward John Duckett, of 111, Bartholomew-street, where he had been in business as a confectioner for the last fifty years. Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Duckett, of Victoria-street, he first went into the blacksmith's trade at Wickham, Hants, but following an illness returned to Newbury to take over the confectioner's business in 1901. Mr. Duckett took a keen interest in sport and always followed the fortunes of of Newbury Football Club. He was of a cheerful disposition and was always good company.
