Mary Ann Lipscombe

Mary Ann Lipscombe

c1784-1862

 

Mary Ann Crumpton was born in Henley on Thames Oxfordshire. She married William Lipscomb (a Chair Maker, born c1788 in West Wycombe Buckinghamshire) on the 18th July 1807 in Henley on Thames.

William and Mary Ann had the following children (and possibly more):

Rebecca baptised 10th July 1808 Beaconsfield Buckinghamshire

John baptised 25th December 1814 Marlborough

Elizabeth baptised 14th June 1815 Marlborough

In 1841 William (55) and Mary (55) were living in Bartholomew Street Newbury also living with them was a Mary Ann Lipscombe aged 14

The 1851 census records William and Mary Ann (both aged 64) living at White Hall Yard Newbury also recorded in the household were their grandchildren William Lipscombe (6) and Rebecca Lipscombe (8).

In the 1861 census Mary (76) was recorded as a widow she was living in St Mary’s Almshouses Cheap Street Newbury, her granddaughter Elizabeth Green (11) was also living with her.

Mary died aged 78 in 1862 she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 5th December.
