Charles Brindley

Charles Brindley

Charles was born in Newbury he was the son of William and Charlotte Brindley (nee Challis) who were married on the 25th December 1815 at St Nicolas Church Newbury

Charles was a General Labourer/ General Dealer, he married Ann Plumb (born c1827 in Marlborough) in Newbury in 1844 and they had the following children: (all born in Newbury)

Charlotte 1844

James c1847

William 1849

Alfred c1854

Elizabeth 1856

In both the 1851 and 1861 census records the family were recorded living in Old Newtown Road Newbury.

In 1860 Ann gave birth to a stillborn child who was buried on the 7th November in the Newtown Road Cemetery.  Ann died aged 34 a couple of weeks later she was buried in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 25th November.

Charles died aged 39 in 1862 he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 17th October.
