Only three of the five burial register books still exist as far as we know and these are held at the Berkshire Record Office.
Stillborn children were not recorded in the burial register, only in the cemetery accounts.

Ann Bune

Ann Bune

1808-1862

 

Ann Appleford was born on the 18th January 1808 in Newbury she was baptised on the 4th May at Northcroft Lane Baptist Meeting House and was the daughter of John and Sarah Appleford (nee Major) who married on the 19th October 1797 at St Mary the Virgin Speen Berkshire.

Ann married Joseph Bune(born c1803 in Bagnor Berkshire)  on the 19th June 1836 at St Nicolas Church Newbury and they had the following children:

William 1838

John 1841

Thomas c1843

Sarah Ann c1846

Their son Thomas died aged 2 in 1845 he was buried on the 26th January at St Mary the Virgin Speen.

In 1851 the family were living in Back Lane Newbury and in 1861 they were living in Vines Buildings and Joseph was working as a Market Gardener.

Ann died aged 54 in 1862 she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 27th September.

In 1871 Joseph was living at 13 Waterloo Place and was working as a Gardener. He died aged 73 in 1875 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 20th February.
