Philip Leach

Philip Leach

1842-1862

 

Philip was in Newbury he was the son of John and Letitia Leach (nee Evans) who married in Newbury in 1840, John was born in Newbury c1822 and was a Bricklayer, Letitia was born c1822 in Berkshire.

John and Letitia also had the following children:

John born 1841-1842

Elizabeth Ann 1844

Mary Jane 1845

In 1841 the family were living in Union Chapel Yard (off Bartholomew Street) Newbury.

Letitia (28), Elizabeth Ann (1) and Mary Jane (0) all died in 1845 (all deaths were registered in the September quarter).

John remarried in 1848, his 2nd wife was Ann(e) Steward, they had one son Henry Steward born 1849.

 In 1851 the family were living in Bartholomew Street Newbury.

John died aged 30 in 1852.

In 1861 Philip (18) was working as a Tailor and was lodging with Edmond and Sarah Smith in Caroline Place Newbury.

Phiiip died aged 20 in 1862 he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 19th September.
