There is no burial register information available for Sophia Goodchild.

Stillborn children were not recorded in the burial register, only in the cemetery accounts.

Sophia Goodchild
c1793-1862
Sophia Wernham was born in Hampstead Norris Berkshire she was baptised on the 19th May 1793 and was the daughter of Richard and Hannah Wernham (nee Stevens) who were married on the 22nd October 1787 in Hampstead Norris (Richard’s surname recorded as Wernam).
Sophia married Richard Goodchild (born c1787 East Ilsley) on the 25th September 1811 in Hampstead Norris. Richard was an Agricultural Labourer and at the time of the marriage he was living in Beedon.
Richard and Sophia had the following children:

In 1841 Richard and Sophia were living near the Brick Kiln Beedon Berkshire. In the 1851 census they were recorded living separately. Richard was recorded living at Worlds End Hampstead Norris and Sophia and her daughter Elizabeth were recorded living at Prospect Place Newbury (the home of her married daughter Sarah Allen, Sarah had just given birth to her daughter Esther so Sophia and Elizabeth were possibly staying to help out). In 1861 Richard and Sophia were living at 6 Madeira Place Newbury.
Sophia died aged 73 in 1862 she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 29th August.
Richard died aged 77 the following year he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 24th December 1863
