There is no burial register information available for Jesse Whornham (Wernham).
Only three of the five burial register books still exist as far as we know and these are held at the Berkshire Record Office.
Stillborn children were not recorded in the burial register, only in the cemetery accounts.

Jesse Wernham
c1836-1862
Jesse was born in Berkshire he was baptised on the 17th July 1836 in Hampstead Norris and was the son of Jeremiah & Eleanor (aka Ellen) Wernham (nee Wells)who were married in Hampstead Norris on the 3rd October 1821. Jeremiah was an Agricultural Labourer.

The family moved to Newbury in approximately 1837 and were living in Bartholomew Street in 1841.
Jesse’s father Jeremiah died aged 43 in 1847 he was buried on the 23rd May at St Mary the Virgin Speen.
In 1851 Ellen and the younger children were living in Dredge’s Yard Newbury.
Jesse joined the Army he was a Corporal in the 1/8th Regiment and was stationed at the Gosport Barracks in Alverstoke Hampshire in 1861. He married Emma Whornham (his surname was also recorded as Whornham at the time of his marriage) on the 13th January 1861 at Holy Trinity Gosport Hampshire.
Jesse died aged 24 (in Newbury) in 1862 he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 16th June.
His mother Ellen died aged 80 in 1877 she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 20th January.
His widow Emma gave birth to their daughter, Jessie Frances Ann in 1862 (in Newbury) she died in Farnham Surrey later that year. Emma went on to marry twice more. Her 2nd husband was James Ballard who was also a Soldier in the 1/8th Regiment. They were married on the 20th January 1863 at St Philips Church Shalesmoor Sheffield. James left the army and they settled in Hampshire and had 4 children. James died in 1876 and Emma married again in 1879 her 3rd husband was Charles Fosbury, they also had 4 children. Emma died in Hampshire c1897.
