Alice Amelia was born in 1859 in Newbury she was fourth child of William & Elizabeth Tucker (nee
Curtis) who were married in Newbury in 1852. Her father was born Brimpton and her mother was
born c1835 in Newbury.
Alice died aged 3 in 1862 she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 29 th March.
 
William & Elizabeth had ten children altogether but sadly only two survived to adulthood, Albert
born c1864 and Thomas born1870.
Alice’s other siblings were:
John Arthur 1853-1858
George Samuel 1854-1856
William Walter 1857-1859
Henry Theodore c1860-1861
Joseph Charles 1861-1862
Charles Edward 1866-1869
Charlotte Annie 1868-1869
(Records show that all of the above children were buried in the Newtown Road Cemetery apart from
Henry Theodore)
 
Alice’s father William died aged 57 in 1882 he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on
the 17 th February.
Her mother Elizabeth remarried in 1882 her 2 nd husband was Richard Middleton. She died aged 74 in
1912 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 6 th April.
