Florence Liddiard
1860-1862
Florence was born in 1860 in Newbury she was the daughter of James & Mary Anne Liddiard (nee Ponking) who married in Wallingford in 1849. James was born 1823 in Aldbourne Wiltshire and Mary Anne was born 1823 in Wallingford Berkshire.
Florence’s father was recorded as a Linen & Woollen Draper in 1851, a Draper in 1861, a Grocer, Draper and Hop Merchant (employing 6 men and 2 boys) in 1871, a Grocer & Draper in 1881 and a Grocer in 1891.
Other children of James & Mary Anne were (all born in Newbury):

Sarah Anne 1850
Clara 1854
Nelly 1863-1869 (died in Wallingford)
Florence died aged 22 months on the 17th February 1862 she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 21st February
The family were recorded living in Market Place Newbury in both the 1851 and 1861 census records but by 1871 they had moved to Great Baddow Essex.
Florence’s mother Mary Anne died aged 50 in 1874.
Her father remarried in 1875 in Kensington, his 2nd wife was Fanny Matilda Manning they had the following children:
William Manning 1877
Frank Ponking 1879
James 1881-1881
Mabel 1882
Fanny Matilda died aged 39 in 1882 and James married again in 1884 in West Ham, his 3rd wife was Mary Rachel Thomas, they had the following 2 children:
James 1884-1885 and Ella 1886
Florence’s father James died aged 76 in 1900
