Stillborn children were not recorded in the burial register, only in the cemetery accounts.

Mary Hopkins
1853-1861
Mary was born in Southampton she was the daughter of George and Eliza Hopkins (nee Adey) who were married in 1840 in Berkshire (marriage registered in Bradfield, Eliza’s surname spelt Addy ). George was born c1814 in Pucklechurch Gloucestershire and Eliza was born c1816 in Basildon Berkshire.
George and Eliza also had the following children:
Hester born 1843 Beenham
Nancy 1846 Woolhampton
George 1849 Southampton
Maria 1857 Newtown
George was a Blacksmith/Farrier. In 1861 the family were living in Robesons Yard Newbury.
Mary died aged 8 in 1861 she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 18th November.
In 1871 the family were living at 48 Bartholomew Street Newbury
Mary’s mother died aged 58 on the 12th March 1873 she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 17th March
In the 1881 census Mary’s father George (72) was recorded as a Retired Blacksmith living with his son George and his family at 4 Cheap Street Newbury. He died aged 81 on the 22nd January 1891 and was buried in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the28th January
