John Brunsdon

John Brunsdon

c1769-1861

 

John was born in Padworth Berkshire he was a Carpenter (Journeyman).  He married Elizabeth Challis on the 4th January 1817 at St Nicolas Church Newbury.

 John and Elizabeth had the following children:

James c1821

Sarah c1826

Judith c1829

John c1831 Newbury

William c1836 Woolhampton

Mary c1838 Woolhampton

 

Elizabeth (40) and her children, James (20), Sarah (15), Judith (12), John (10), William (4) and Mary (2) were recorded in the 1841 census living at Greenham Mills Berkshire. John was not recorded at home with them.

In 1851 the family were living in Cheap Street Newbury.

Elizabeth died aged 62 in 1857 she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 1st December

In the 1861 census John (91) was recorded living in Back Lane Newbury, his youngest daughter Mary Griffin (21) was recorded living with him (Mary married George Griffin in 1858).

 John died aged 92 in 1861 he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the13th September
