Mary Liddiard

Mary Liddiard

c1772-1861

 

Mary Clinch was born in Gloucestershire she was baptised on the 30th June 1772 in Meysey Hampton Gloucestershire the daughter of Francis and Ann Clinch (nee Pope) who were married on the 23rd March 1758 in Fairford Gloucestershire.

Francis and Ann also had the following children:

Robert baptised 16th March 1759 buried 30th March 1759 Fairford Gloucestershire

Jane baptised 29th August 1760 Fairford

Thomas 26th August 1765 in Fairford

John baptised 4th March 1768 in Fairford

Charles baptised 29th June 1770 in Fairford

Anne baptised 7th October 1774 Meysey Hampton

Sarah baptised 20th February 1784 in Fairford

 

Mary married William Liddiard on the 14th December 1799 in Faringdon Berkshire and they had the following children:

 Joseph Liddeard baptised 24th August 1800 in Farington Berkshire

Ann Clinch Lydeard born 8th March 1804 baptised on the 20th May 1804 in Farington Berkshire

 James Lydeard born 11th October 1806 baptised 7th December 1806 in Farington Berkshire

 Sophia Lideard baptised on the 7th January 1817 at St Mary the Virgin Marlborough Wiltshire.

On Sophia’s baptism record William was recorded as a Coachman.

The 1841 census records Mary (65) (name and age mistakenly recorded as May (35) on ancestry), as a Laundress living in Trafalgar Place Newbury, also recorded in the household were her daughters Sophia (20) and Ann Cole (36) and her granddaughters  Mary Cole (12) and Emily Cole (10). (Ann Clinch Liddiard married Robert Cole in 1827 in St Marylebone Westminster)

The 1851 census records Mary (76) as a widow, Almswoman-late Laundress, living in Cheap Street Newbury also recorded living with her was her daughter Sophia (34), a Needlewoman and her widowed brother, John Clinch (84), a Coal Merchant

Mary died aged 89 in 1861 she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 26th March
