ROBERT MARTIN

Mayor 1845

Died 24th June 1860 aged 53

On 23rd inst, at Newbury, Mr. Robert Martin, an alderman of the Borough of Newbury, aged 53.

MR. MARTIN, Deceased

 

All persons having CLAIMS on the late Mr. ROBERT MARTIN, of the Market Place, Newbury, Berks., Harness, Saddle, Twine, and Sack Manufacturer, Deceased, are requested to send in the particulars thereof to Mr. Robert Skinner of Greenham. And all persons INDEBTED to Mr. Martin are requested forthwith to pay the amounts of their respective debts to Mr. Skinner, or, at the late Mr. Martin's residence.

ROBERT MARTIN

Robert Martin (1807-60). Saddle manufacturer, currier, and leather seller in the market place. Also made harness, twine, and sacks. Alderman. 

He was declared bankrupt 1839,* but appears to have recovered his reputation.
