DEATH OF MRS. G. HOLLOWAY
The death of Mrs. Ann Holloway, wife of Mr. George Holloway, of 20 Railway-road, removes one who has been a good friend to Newbury Football Club, to which her husband for some years acted as trainer. For a long period Mrs Holloway voluntarily washed the players’ football attire, and she was ever ready to render any service in her power to the Club, by helping with the catering and in innumerable other ways. She had been ill for some months, and passed away on Friday at the age of 53.
The funeral took place on Tuesday, a service being held at the house and the interment was at Newtown-road Cemetery. The Rev. R. Collier, Primitive Methodist minister, officiated.
The mourners were Mr. G. Holloway (husband), Mrs. Wright (mother), Mr. J. Wright, Miss Cutler (Nellie), Mr. and Mrs Liddiard (brother and sister-in-law), Mr. W. Holloway (brother-in-law), Mrs. Minchin, Mrs. Mason (Reading), Mrs Davis. Others present included Messrs E.O. Willis, S.J. Stillman, H. Peters and W.C. Parr, representing Newbury Football Club and other local organisations, also Mrs Stillman and Mrs. W.C. Pars(?).
