FUNERAL OF THE LATE MR. FRANK FREEMAN
The funeral of the late Mr. Frank Freeman, of 54 West-street, Newbury, who died on February 27th, was conducted on Wednesday last week in the Baptist church by the Minister, the Rev. W. Charles Johnson, who, in a brief address, spoke in appreciative terms of Mr. Freeman’s quiet consistent Christian life and happy temperament, and of his having been a member of the church for over forty years.
The hymns sung were “O God our help” and “Abide with me.” The organist, Mr. P. J. Scruton, played the beautiful air “O rest in the Lord” as the coffin was borne into the church, and the “Dead March” in Saul at the close of the service.
The interment at the Newtown Road Cemetery followed, the family mourners being the widow, Mr. R. Freeman, Mr. and Mrs. Bain, Mr. and Mrs S. Elliott, Mrs. F. Lewis, Miss Joan Bain, Mrs Senior, Miss Jean Shepherd, Messrs. Frank and Jack Bain, Donald Smith and C.H. Freeman.
