George Eeles

George was baptised on the 16th June 1781, in Highclere, Hampshire, the son of James and Sarah Eeles.

His siblings were (all baptised in Highclere):

Charles 9th May 1780

Hannah 22nd February 1783

William 17th April 1785

John 24th September 1786 (possible death 1788 in Highclere)

Mark 14th February 1790 (died aged 69 in 1855, buried in the NRC on the 4th April)

Henry 4th March 1792

Joseph 31st May 1795

Edmond 6th August 1797

Betsey 30th June 1799 (surname recorded as Eelles)

John 25th July 1802 (surname recorded as Eels, born 24th December 1801)

 

In 1851 George (70) was recorded as a Plasterer, lodging in Shaw’s Court, Newbury, Berkshire. (No marital status recorded for him.  Surname recorded as Eellas on ancestry)

He died aged 76 in 1855 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 3rd February,

(Surname recorded as Ecles on the GRO website and Eeles on the freebmd website)
