Charles was born in Hampshire he was baptised on the 14th April 1805 in Whitchurch Hampshire the son of William and Jane Wristbridge (nee Lovell) who were married in Basingstoke on the 23rd March 1799.

Charles siblings were:

John baptised 7th March 1802

Elizabeth baptised 25th March 1804

Joseph baptised 13th March 1808

Charles married Jane Cummins (born c1807 in Whitchurch) on the 17th May 1830 in Whitchurch Hampshire.

Known children of Charles and Jane were (all born in Whitchurch except George and William who were born in Newbury):

Jane c1831 (died aged 16 in 1848 in Newbury)

Charles c1833

Elizabeth 1838

Mary 1840 (died aged 1 in1842 in Newbury)

William 1843 (died aged 2 in 1846 in Newbury)

George 1845

The 1841 census records Charles (40), as a Mealman, living in Caroline Yard, Northbrook Street Newbury with Jane (35) and their children, Jane (10), Charles (8), Elizabeth (3) and Mary (6 months). (Surname recorded as Woodbridge on Ancestry)

In 1851 Charles (46), was recorded as a Grocer, living in Bartholomew Street Newbury with Jane (43), Elizabeth (12) and George (5).

Charles died aged 47 in 1852 he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 15th December.

In 1861 Jane (54) was working as a Domestic Servant, she was living at 5 Railway Terrace Newbury also living with her were two lodgers, Sophia Ewing (72) and her daughter Mary Ewing (39).

Both the 1871 and 1881 census records record Jane as an Annuitant, living in Railway Terrace Newbury.

The 1891 census records Jane (84) living in Boutport Street Barnstable Devon with her married daughter Bessie (Elizabeth) Morris (52), son-in-law Edward E Morris (51), a Wine Merchant and her grandson Duncan Morris (20), an Assistant to Father.

Jane died aged 85 in 1892 in Barnstable.
