Hannah Perry

c1795-1850

Hannah was baptised in 1795 in Newbury, Berkshire, the daughter of Richard and Sarah Perry (nee Osgood) who were married on the 23rd December 1789 at St Nicolas Church Newbury.

Her father Richard was baptised in Speen in 1762, the son of John and Mary Perry. He died aged 69 on the 7th October 1832 and was buried on the 13th October 1832 at St Nicolas Newbury.

Her mother Sarah was baptised in Newbury in 1766, the daughter of Phillip and Mary Osgood (nee Walker) who were married on the 15th August 1763 at St Nicolas Church Newbury. She died aged 52 on the 8th May 1818 and was buried on the 13th May 1818 at St Nicolas Newbury.

Other known children of Richard and Sarah were:

Martha baptised 1793

Charles baptised 1801

Samuel born c1804

 

In 1815 Hannah (19) was living at the Town Arms, on the east side of Market Place, Newbury with her parents Richard (52) and Sarah (49) and her siblings Martha (21), Charles (14) and Samuel (11).

The 1841 census records Hannah (40) as a Schoolmistress living in the parish of St Nicolas, Newbury with her sister Martha (40) who was also recorded as a Schoolmistress.

Hannah died aged 55 in 1850, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 9th November.

Her sister Martha died aged 59 in 1852, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 19th January.
