James Henry Cooper
1850-1850
James Henry was baptised on the 3rd May 1850 the son of James Robert and Leah Cooper (nee Brunsdon). Although the baptism record doesn’t record James Henry as illegitimate, his parents didn’t marry until 1861.
James Henry died aged 7months, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 12th October 1850.
His father: James Robert Cooper was a Tailor, he was born on the 15th December 1829 and baptised on the 25th January 1830 at St Leonard’s Shoreditch, Middlesex, the son of James (a Tailor) and Emily Cooper (nee Jones) of Thomas Street. His parents were married on the 28th May 1820 at Christ Church, Southwark. By 1832 the family were living in Newbury.
His mother: Leah was baptised on the 4th November 1832 at St Giles Reading Berkshire, the daughter of Richard and Sarah Brunsdon (nee Neal) who were married on the 14th June 1832 at St Peter Frimley, Surrey.
His parent’s marriage details:

Groom: James Robert Cooper, aged 31, occupation, Tailor
Bride: Leah Brunsdon, aged 30
Fathers: James Cooper, a Tailor and Richard Brunsdon, a Servant.
Witnesses: John Cooper and Emily Cooper.

James Henry’s mother Leah died aged 34 in 1864, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 14th March.
His father remarried in 1865 (marriage registered in Newbury), his 2nd wife was Lydia Hart (nee Whiting), a widow. James Robert died between 1871 and 1881. (Possible death mistakenly recorded as Robert James Cooper aged 50, March quarter 1881 in Wokingham, as Lydia, a widow was recorded living in the Wokingham district in the 1881 census)
