1901 Father MacFarlane, china and glass dealer, 63 Northbrook St, Newbury (now McDonald’s), born Newbury. Philip Edgar is at home.
1911 Philip Edgar is a solicitor’s articled clerk, 19 Selwyn Avenue, Richmond, Surrey
(the school list printout says “1905 – left for Town Clerk’s office”).
Newbury Grammar School May 1901 – Jul 1905
1905 passed the London Matriculation exam in the 1st Division
1916 Dec – promoted to corporal.
1917 Apr – died on service.
