The late Mr H T Parr  - Mr Henry Thomas Parr whose death occurred on Tuesday the 16th at his house "melito", howard Road, at the age of 68 years, was the eldest son of the late Mr Thomas Parr of Berries Bank and received his education at the Newbury Old Grammar School. For many years he followed the occupation of a gentleman's outfitter retiring from business 16 years ago. Mr Parr married nearly 45 years ago miss Elvina Holman of Hastings who survives him with three daughters and one son who voluntarily terribly joined the Royal Engineers soon after the outbreak of the war.

Mr Parr had a seizure in the street about three weeks ago but did not consider it serious and went about his duties as usual. He had another seizure however from which he did not recover. A clot of blood had formed on the brain.

The funeral took place on Friday at the Newbury Cemetery. The service was conducted by the Reverend J E Peel, the first part of the Wesleyan Church. Wreaths were sent from his sorrowing widow, three daughters, son, grandson, sisters, brother and many friends.

The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr T Plumb Undertaker.
