THE LATE MRS. DANFORD SKINNER
After an illness of some duration, Mrs. Louisa Danford Skinner passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday morning atFalkland-farm,WashCommon. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Flower of Hollington-farm, a well-known local agriculturist. On her marriage to Mr. Danford Skinner, they resided at Rectory-farm, Enbourn-road, subsequently at Wash-farm, and also at Hollington. Latterly Mr. and Mrs. Skinner have been living at Falkland-farm. Of the family of six children, three survive.
The funeral took place on Monday afternoon atNewburyCemetery. The mourners from deceased’s residence were Mr. Danford Skinner (husband), the Misses Norah and Matilda Skinner (daughters), Mr. E. Danford Skinner (son) and Mrs. Jones. Many relatives and friends met at the Cemetery to pay their last tribute of respect and esteem in which the deceased lady was held, amongst them Miss Flower (sister), Mrs. Lowe (niece) Mrs. Skinner (St. John’s-road), Mr. H. Skinner (Avebury), Miss Forbes, Miss Parslow, Mrs. Rogers (Wash Common), Mr. and Mrs. Frank Comyns, and many others.
There were a large number of wreaths, crosses and other floral offerings of love and respect. The Rev. A.G.P. Haines impressively read the service in the church and at the graveside. The arrangements were in the hands of Messrs. A. Jackson and Co., Undertakers, Market Place, Newbury.
Also – 1. Infant daughter Annie Louisa d. 21/08/1874 aged 4 months 19 days 2. Son Philip Stanley b. 10/04/1883, d. 02/12/1883 3. Danford d. 02/031924 aged 77 In her will she left £640 to her husband
