Alfred Watts was born in Kintbury to a Clerk in an Office, Charles & his wife Ann. He was in Service as a young man &, at the time of his marriage at St James, Picadilly, London in April 1869, he was a steward to James & Susan Shuter, annuitants.. He married Eliza Jenaway of East Ilsley, Berks. They were Butler & Lady's Maid to the Shuters at Park House, Crookham, Thatcham when their only child, Catherine was born in 1870. Later they moved to 61, Cheap St where Alfred was an Agent. By1891 they had moved to Elmslie, Stanley Rd where Alfred, & much later Eliza, died. Catherine lived with her mother until Eliza's death, living on their own means. Sources: NRC Bur Recd; Ancestry records.
