DEATH OF MRS. A. W. NEATE
The deepest sympathy is felt with Mr. A.W. Neate and his family in the loss they have sustained by the death of Mrs. Neate.
The deceased lady had been ailing for some time and passed away early on Sunday morning. She had the misfortune to fracture her legs on two occasions in the last few years, but she was of the sunniest disposition, and was never known to complain. A loving wife and the best of mothers, her memory will be ever held dear by her family, outside of which she had a large circle of friends, who also mourn her loss.
The funeral took place yesterday (Wednesday) morning, the service being conducted at the Congregational Church, at which the deceased lady regularly attended. The Pastor (Rev. F.W. Clarke) officiated, and gave a sympathetic address in which he said they were gathered to show respect to a devoted wife and mother, and sympathy with those who had suffered bereavement. The hymn “Now the labourer’s task is over,” and Mr Walter Midwinter, who acted as organist, played very feelingly, the air “O rest in the Lord,” as the body was borne into the church, and the Dolomite chant at the close.
The mourners were Mr. A.W. Neate (husband), Mesrs. Frank and Stephen Neate (sons), Misses Ellen and Eva Neate (daughters), Mr. S.R. and Miss Whistler, Mr. A. and Mr. T. Whistler, Mr and Mrs. Whistler, Mr. Dennis and Miss R. Whistler, Miss and Mr. Neate, Mr. Dennis Taylor.
