Mary Elizabeth Allen
1877-1929
Mary Elizabeth, her parents, siblings and early life:
Mary Elizabeth was born in 1877 in Emberton, Buckinghamshire. She was baptised on the 8th July 1877 in Emberton, Buckingham, the daughter of James and Susanna Palmer Andrews (nee Rogers) who were married in 1867, in Buckinghamshire.
Her father James Andrew was born 1843 in Clifton Reynes, Buckinghamshire. He was baptised in 1843 in Clifton Reynes, the son of Henry and Ann Andrews (nee Timpson) who were married in 1840 (marriage registered in Newport Pagnell, surname recorded as Andrew)
Her mother Susanna Palmer was baptised on the 5th April 1846, in Sherington, Buckinghamshire, the daughter of Isaac and Ann Rogers (nee Palmer) who were married on the 22nd April 1844, in Sherington.
James and Susanna also had the following children:

In 1881 James (38), a Foreman/General Labourer, Susanna (35), a Lace Maker, Harry (10), Walter (8), Joseph G. (7), William (5), Mary E. (3), Sarah A. (2) and Nellie (8 months) (mistakenly recorded as Willie on ancestry), were living at Emberson Lodge, Emberton, Buckinghamshire.
The 1891 census records Mary (14) working as a Servant, in Southlands Grove, Bromley, Kent for a Reginald Woodham (36) a Clerk in Holy Orders and his family.

Fathers: Alfred Allen, a Decorator and James Andrews, a Farm Bailiff
Witnesses: Edwin Hopkins Allen and Sarah Annie Andrews
(Charles Jackson Allen was born on the 7th January 1875, in Newbury, Berkshire, the son of Alfred and Martha Allen (nee Hopkins) who were married on the 1st January 1866 in Ham, Wiltshire)
The 1901 census records Charles (26) as a House Decorator living at 1 West Street, Newbury, with Mary (23).
Charles and Mary had the following two children:

Edwin Andrew, 1915
The 1911 census records Charles (36) as a House Painter, living at 1 West Street, Newbury, with Mary (33), Margaret (8) and two boarders.
In 1921 Charles (46), a House Decorator, Mary (44), Margaret (18), a Postmaster Telegraphist, Edwin (5) and a boarder, were recorded living at The Willows, Craven Road, Newbury.
The family were living at 41 Bartholomew Street, Newbury by 1929.
Mary Elizabeth died aged 52, on the 3rd November 1929. She was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 8th November.
Charles continued to live at 41 Bartholomew Street until 1938.
The 1939 Register records Charles as a House Decorator, living at 60 Craven Road, Newbury.
Charles died aged 92 on the 24th May 1967, at Lord Mayor Treloar Hospital, Alton, Hampshire. His body was brought to Newbury and he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 31st May, with Mary Elizabeth.
