Florence/Flora Annie Bellinger
1884-1913
Flora Annie was born in Ashbury Berkshire the daughter of William and Mary Ann Stevens (nee Winterbourn/Winterbourne) who were married in 1869 (marriage registered in the March quarter in Faringdon).
Flora’s father William was a Shepherd, he was born in Shefford, Berkshire c1843.
Her mother Mary Ann was born c1850 in Uffington Berkshire.

In 1891 Flora Stevens (7) and her siblings Arthur John (15), Walter J (12), Alice (9), Agnes E (4) and Edith K (2) were recorded living with a Jesse and Ellen Hughes and their daughter Florence E J Hughes (11) at North Mill Cottages, Upper Lambourn. The Stevens children were recorded as Jesse and Ellen’s children. William and Mary Stevens were recorded living alone at Red Barn Cottages, Ashbury.
In 1901 Florence Anne Stevens (16) was recorded as a Domestic Servant in the household of a Farmer, Emerson Keable and his family at Middle Farm, Upper Lambourn, Berkshire.
In 1911 she was recorded as Florrie Stevens aged 24, working as a General Servant (Hotel) at the Bear Inn, Market Place, Newbury.
The following year Flora married (as Flora A Stephens) George Bellinger (marriage registered in September quarter in Hungerford).
Flora died on the 17th March 1913 at the Newbury District Hospital she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 20th March (death registered as Florence A Bellinger, buried as Florence Annie Bellinger).
George went on to marry Ada Preston (nee Brown) in 1921. (Ada was the widow of George’s cousin Frederick John Preston (1885-1917)).
George died aged 55 in 1935 (death registered in Newbury)
