Fanny, her parents, siblings and early life:

Fanny House was baptised on the 26th June 1831 at St Mary the Virgin, Marlborough, Wiltshire, the daughter of William and Fanny House (nee Moulding) who were married on the 17th October 1813 at St Andrew, Hoborn, Middlesex

Fanny’s father William was born c1787 in Benson, Oxfordshire, the son of Thomas and Elizabeth House (nee Bullock) who were married on the 7th July 1776 in Sutton Courtenay Berkshire.  William was recorded as a Publican in 1841 (in Woolhampton, Berkshire), a Farmer in 1851 (in Stanford Dingley) and a Stage Coachman in 1831, 1833 and 1861. He died aged 80 on the 24th March 1866 and was buried in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 30th March.

Her mother Fanny was born in 1790 in Newbury, the daughter of John and Esther Moulding she died aged 80 on the 13th September 1871 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 19th September.

William and Fanny also had the following children;

Eliza baptised in 1814 in Speen

Cornelius baptised in 1817 in Newbury (buried in the NRC on the 22/4/1865)

William baptised in 1818 in Speen (died aged 5+, buried 11th August 1824 at St Nicolas Newbury)

Harriet Emily baptised in 1820 in Speen (died aged 4 months, buried 10th January 1821 at St Nicolas Newbury)

John Thomas baptised in 1821 in Speen

Joseph baptised in 1823 in Speen (died aged 6 months, buried 17th July 1824 at St Nicolas Newbury)

Jane Ellen baptised in 1826 in Speen (died aged 12, buried 28th August 1839 at St Nicolas Newbury)

Emmeline baptised in 1828 in Speen (buried in the NRC on the 12/2/1856)

William Henry baptised on the 14th June 1833 in Marlborough (buried in the NRC 3/3/1898)

In 1841 Fanny (10) was recorded living in Chapel Street, Thatcham, Berkshire with a Moses Jessett (50,) a Baker and his family (Fanny’s surname recorded as Harris on ancestry).

Fanny in later life:

Fanny married George Lovelock in 1861 (marriage registered in Romsey).

George was born in Sandleford, Berkshire, he was baptised in 1835 in Newbury, the son of William and Hannah Lovelock

George and Fanny had the following children:

George William House born 1861 birth registered in Devizes (died 1861)

Fanny House born 1863 birth registered in Easthampstead

Emmeline House born c1865 birth registered in Bradfield

Jane Ellen born 1866 birth registered in Cookham

William Henry born c1871 birth registered in Wantage

Elgar George born 1873 birth registered in Newbury

Mary Ann born 1875 birth registered in Nuneaton (died 1877)

In 1861 Fanny (28) and George (27), a Draper were living at 15 Northgate Street, Devizes, Wiltshire.

The 1871 census records Fanny (39) George (37), (a Farm Bailiff to a John Rowles) and their children Fanny (7), Jane E (4) and William H (7 months) living at Coomb Farm House, Brightwaltham, Berkshire

In 1881 Fanny (48), George (45), a Farm Bailiff and their children Fanny H (17), a Dressmaker, Emmeline (16), a Dressmaker, Jane E (14), William H (10) and Elgar G (7) were living in Langley Marish, Buckinghamshire.

The 1891 census records Fanny (50), George (50), Fanny (23) and Emmeline (21) (recorded as Em) living at 5 Capel Road, Bushey, Hertfordshire (no occupations recorded for any of them).

The 1901 census records Fanny (67) as a widow, she was living at 1 Claremont Villas, Kingston upon Thames Surrey with her daughter Fanny H (37), a Dressmaker and her son William H (30), a Butcher’s Assistant.

The 1911 census records Fanny (79) as an Old Age Pensioner living at 49 Bruce Road, Harlesden, Willesden, Middlesex. Her daughter Fanny House (47) was still living at home with her and was still working as a Dressmaker. Also recorded as visitors, were her son Elgar George (37) an Electric Tram Driver, his wife Florence Amy (31) and their son George Elgar E Lovelock (4).

Fanny died aged 80 on the 8th March 1913 at 49 Bruce Road, Willesden, her body was brought to Newbury and she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 12th March with her sister Emmeline House (buried 1856) and her brother Cornelius House (buried 1865)
