Transciption: | DUNCAN GRAHAM ROBERTSON IN DEATH NOT DIVIDED FUNERAL OF MR AND MRS GRAHAM ROBERTSON, Enborne Road. They formerly The unusual occurrence of a husband and wife being buried together took place on Thursday at Newbury Cemetery. The deceased lady and gentleman had resided for the past three years at Torrie, Enborne Road. They formerly lived at Torrie, Eastmains, Callender, N.B., and upon coming to reside at Newbury named their house after their old property. Mrs Robertson had been ill for two years, and her husband since February last. It was a pathetic incident that they should have passed away within three days of each other, both having reached the age of 75. They were buried together, and the first part of the service was held in St John’s Church, the Rev. E H Stenning officiating. Just before the conclusion of the service the hymn, “Jesus lives, no longer now” was read, it having been written by a near relative of the late Mrs Graham Robertson The coffins were of plain unpolished oak, with brass fittings, and the name-plates were inscribed:# DUNCAN GRAHAM ROBERTSON Died May 8, 1912 Aged 75 ELIZABETH P ROBERTSON Died May 5, 1912 Aged 75 The coffins were both covered with the floral adornment, and were conveyed to the graveside in two funeral cars. The mourners were Mr D Graham Robertson (son), Miss Graham Robertson (daughter), Mr Fookes (brother of Mrs Robertson), and Nurse Tucker. There were also several friends present including Dr and Mrs Heywood, Mr A G Harrison, Mrs Sharwood Smith, Miss Etty, and others. The funeral arrangements were in the hands of Messrs. Penford and Son.
