THE LATE MR. GEORGE COX
The death took place on January 1st, of Mr. George Cox, who had been for the last 12 years the landlord of the “Gun,” Wash Common.
For many years previously he had been employed at the South Berks Brewery, and was one of its most trusted servants.
The funeral took place on Tuesday at the Cemetery, when there was a good assemblage of those who had known the deceased. The local Licensed Victuallers Association were represented by Messrs. Hedges and W. Fabry, and wreaths were sent from the widow and family, the Licensed Victuallers’ Association, the South Berks Brewery, and others.
