HENRY WATSON

THE LATE MR HENRY WATSON

The remains of the late Mr Henry Watson, the particulars of whose death we reported last week, were brought from Hereford on Friday, and were laid to rest on Saturday in Newbury Cemetery, the Rev. R Wickham Legg officiating.  The mourners were the widow (Mrs Henry Watson). Dr John and Mrs Watson, Mr Arthur Watson, Mrs Linnell (sister) and Mr Linnell (Leicester).Among those present at the graveside were the Mayor ,Mrs H Burke Godwin, Miss Wasey, Dr Jenner Clarke, Dr Kerby, Dr Heywood, Dr E Somerset, Mr W J Blacket, Mr Broome Pinniger, Mr S North, Mr Kemp, etc.  Several floral tributes had been sent by relatives and friends.

The coffin plate was inscribed:

                                                HENRY WATSON

                                          Died December 2, 1908

                                                   Aged 42 years

Wreaths were contributed by “His loving and sorrowing widow”, Jack and Maud, Arthur T Watson, Dr and Mrs Oswald Lane, Mr and Mrs C F Paice, Mr and Mrs F H Swallow, Mr and Mrs T Wheeler-Meats, Mr and Mrs Avery Bird, Mr and Mrs Le Breton Martin and Miss Fischer, Mr and Mrs T Dreweatt, Nurse Brown.  The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr G Wintle of Northbrook street.
