Sue Thomas, a distant relative writes that Frederick William Maylen was the son of George and Emily Maylen, born 2Q 1874 in the RD of Bradfield, Berkshire. One of 7 children, he was a hay binder on the 1901 census. His father George was an agricultural worker.
