Elizabeth Stone Amor
c1850-1908
Elizabeth, her parents, siblings and early life:
Elizabeth Stone was baptised on the 14th August, 1850, in Chetnole, Dorset, the daughter of John Highmore and Sarah Stone Jeffery (nee Hounsell), who were married on the 27th December 1842, in Melbury Bubb and Woolcombe, Dorset.
Her father John Highmore Jeffery was baptised on the 3rd July 1814, in Closworth, Somerset, the son of John (a Butcher) and Jane Jeffery (nee Highmore) who were married on the 10th November 1812 at St John, Yeovil, Somerset. John died aged 72 in 1886, in Somerset.
Her mother Sarah Stone Hounsell was baptised on the 14th March 1824 at Litton Cheney, Dorset, the daughter of Benjamin (a Dairyman) and Elizabeth Hounsell (nee Stone) who were married on the 4th March 1814 at St Nicholas Combe, Somerset. Sarah died aged 50, in 1875 in Somerset.

In 1851 John (37), a Farmer of 87 acres, Sarah (27) and their children, Jane (7), Saah (5), Benjamin (4), Emma (2), Elizabeth (1) and a Dairymaid and House Servant, were recorded living in Chetnole, Dorset.
The 1861 census records James (47), now a Farmer of 150 acres, employing 4 men, Sarah (37), Jane (17), Sarah (15), Benjamin (14), Emma (12), Elizabeth (11), Arthur (9). Mary (7), Fanny (6), John (5) and Susan (3)
Elizabeth in later life:
In 1871 Elizabeth (21) was working as Dairymaid in Addington, Buckinghamshire, for a Farmer, John Linnell (32).
Elizabeth married in 1876.

Bride: Elizabeth Stone Jeffery, aged 25, spinster, abode, Burton
Fathers: William Amor, a Farmer and John Highmore Jeffery, a Butcher
Witnesses: John Highmore Jeffery, Susan Rosina Caroline Highmore Jeffery and Mary Susan Jeffery
(James was baptised on the 6th June 1852, in Pitcombe, Somerset, the son of William and Charlotte Amor (nee Williams), who were married on the 4th May 1843, in North Cheriton, Somerset).
James and Elizabeth had the following children:
Edwin William, 1877 in Cole, Somerset, baptised 25th December 1877, in Wyke Champflower, Somerset
John James, born 1878 in Cole Somerset, baptised 26th October 1878, in Wyke Champflower, Somerset
Arthur, born 22nd January 1881, in Bristol, baptised 7th October 1883, at St Laurence, Seale, Surrey
Walter Charles, born 25th August 1883, in Aldershot, baptised 7th October 1883 (with his brother Arthur)
Sarah Susan Rosina (aka Rosina), born 1885 in Kingsley, Hampshire.
William Jeffery, born 1890, in Parkstone, Dorset
The 1881 census records James (28), a Farmer of 18 acres, Elizabeth (31), Edwin (3), James (2) and Arthur (1 month), living at Hill House Farm, Dundry, Somerset.
The 1891 census records James as William J. (39), a Grocer, Elizabeth (41), Edwin (13), James (11), Arthur (10), Walter (8), Rosina (6) and William (1), living in Ashley Road, Kinson, Dorset.
In 1901 James (48), a Stockman on Farm, Elizabeth (51), Walter (17), Rosina (15), a Draper’s Assistant and William (11) were living at Warren Fram, The Wash, Newbury, Berkshire.
Elizabeth was widowed in 1906. James died aged 54, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 31st December.
Elizabeth died aged 57 on the 28th January 1908, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 1st February.
