Son of Henry James and Susan, nee Oxford, Dolton, He was born on Portsea Island Portsmouth.
He served with the RIfle Brigade and was a musician.
He married Elizabeth copas in 1880, their 1st daug. , Mary Elizabeth,died aged 7 months, and twins bied at birth in 1887. Their son Henry James was born in 1889
Henry was a Street Musician, he was paralysed in 1901 and died inn the Union Workhouse, Newbury, on 16/6/1904 aged 49
