THE LATE MISS WALTER
The death occurred on Friday at 68 Northbrook-street, after a few day's illness of Miss Walter, at the age of 81. She was a member of an old Newbury family, being daughter of the late John Walter and sister of the late Mr. Sam Walter, who carried on the cooper's business for so many years. Miss Walter was actively connected with the Congregational church and Sunday School, being for many years a member of the choir.
The funeral took place on Monday afternoon at the Old Cemetery, the Rev. A.H. Fowler officiating.
The mourners were Mr. John Walter and Miss Walter (nephew and niece), Mr. E. Cox (bother-in-law), the Misses E. and B. Webb, and Mr. John Smith (nephew); several friends also being present.
Wreaths were sent by the following: Winnie and Jack; cousins at Balham; Mrs Ashdown and Miss Booz; Mrs. Brice Gould, Katherine, Margaret and Ernest; Win and Bert (Gloucester); All at Stanmore; Ted and Letty (Purnea); Miss Finch; Mrs. Joseph Elliott; Vera Hughes; Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Buckingham; and Sally and family (Reading).
The funeral arrangements were carried out by Messrs Camp, Hopson & Co. Ltd.
