Ernest Robert Arnold
1902-1903
Ernest Robert was born in Newbury, Berkshire, the son of William Thomas and Mary Jane Arnold (nee Shepard/Shepherd) who were married on the 19th December 1885 in Thatcham, Berkshire.
Ernest Robert died aged 1 in 1903, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 8th April.
Ernest Robert’s family:
His father William Thomas was born on the 13th August 1866 in Thatcham Berkshire, he was baptised on the 1st September 1867 in Thatcham, the son of Noah and Mary Arnold (nee Haines/Haynes) who were married on the 28th January 1855 in Thatcham.
His mother Mary Jane was born c1869 in Maidenhead, Berkshire, the daughter of George and Esther Ann Shepherd (nee Palmer) who were married on the 1st September 1867 in Chislehurst, Kent.
Ernest Robert’s siblings were:

In 1891 William (25) was working as a General Labourer, he was living with Mary Jane (22) (recorded as Jane aged 33) and their children Esther (3), William (2) and Harriet (1 month), in Broad Steet, Thatcham.
The 1901 census records William (34) as a Paper Factory Labourer, living at 10 Union Street, Newbury, with Mary (33), Esther (13), William (12), George (9), Florence (7), Arthur (5), Henry (2) and Cecil (1). (Surname recorded as Anwld on ancestry)
In 1911 Wiliam (45) a General Labourer (Wood Turning, Saw Mills), Mary (44), Florence (16), Arthur (14), Henry (13), Cecil (11), Lily (6), Ernest (4) and Albert (2) were living at 13 Jack Street, Newbury
Mary Jane died aged 52 in 1920, in Newbury.
William was recorded in the 1939 Register as a Patient in the Newbury Workhouse. he died aged 75 in 1941, in Newbury.
