Sidney Brice Uzzell 1902-1903

Sidney Brice Uzzell

1902-1903

Sidney was born in Newbury, Berkshire, the son of John and Laura Jane Uzzell (nee Mosdell) who were married in 1901 (marriage registered in Newbury).

Sidney died aged 6 months in 1903, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 24th January. (At the time of his death the family were living at 5 Cromwell Place Newbury)

Sidney’s siblings were:

Hilda Grace 1903

Elsie 1906 (died 1906)

Flora Ruby 1911

His father John was born on the 1st November 1869 in Chaddleworth, Berkshire, the son of Thomas and Mary Ann Uzzell (nee Coxhead) who were married on the 30th May 1866  in West Woodhay Berkshire.

His mother Laura Jane was born on the 20th October 1879 in Hungerford, Berkshire, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Mosdell (nee Povey) who were married in 1873. (Marriage registered in Newbury)

In 1911 John (41) was working as a Rollerman (Corn Miller), the family were living at 5 Coniston Terrace, St Mary’s Road, Newbury.

The 1939 Register records John as a Retired General Labourer, living at 121 Henwick Lane, Newbury Road, Newbury with his wife Laura.

John died aged 83 in 1953 (death registered in Newbury)

Laura Jane died aged 87 in 1967 (death registered in Newbury)
