**William Oldmain Rivers became a Shoemaker. In 1881, he is living at 2 Waldegrave Place, Newbury with wife, Louisa (26) b. Basingstoke & stepdaughter Helena Lidstone (4) b. Wickham and daughter Alice K. (1) b. Newbury. In 1891, they are at 19, Northbrook Place (next to Taylor's Cottages), Helena (14) s a domestic servant, Alice (11), William C. (6), Walter (3). In 1901, they are at 15, Adey's Buildings, Stroud Green; William C. (16) is an apprentice bootmaker, Albert H. (13) is a boy messenger, Walter (11), Edith (9), Arthur (6) and Francis (3).

William Copas

William 1839-1902 was the fifth child of James and Mary, nee Witts. He married Ann Rivers in 1865. He was a Master Carman and Cab driver in Newbury, Berkshire.
They had five children —Sarah Elizabeth 1866-1949. She became an hospital nurse and midwife. At different times, her brother, William and her mother, Ann lived with her in the Hendon (Edgware) district. She is buried at St Margaret's, Edgware, Middlesex.
Henry James 1868-1877. William 1872-1938 was an Organist and Teacher of Music. In 1901 he was living with his sister in Edgware; in 1911 he was living in Little Marlow, Buckinghamshire. He died in the Hendon district.
Annie Ellen b. 1874 married George Joseph Allen b. 1875 from Dalston, Middlesex, in 1898. He was a Carpenter. They has five children but, only three were surviving at the time of the 1911 Census -Annie Grace b. 1899, Leslie Edward 1903-1978 and Bernard Ronald b. 1908. One other known child is Ronald Leslie b. 1906.
Edward Rivers b. 1876. In 1900 he joined the Royal Berkshire Regiment. He married Annie Mary White in 1903. They had three children —Annie May "Maisie" 1904-1998, she married Edward Lionel White in 1929 in Harlow, Essex; Kathleen Alice 1906-1983 and Edward !von 1918-1993, who married Eileen Mary Napier Osborn in Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire in 1949.
Ann Rivers was the second of six children born to Henry Rivers 1818-1890 and Harriet Wilcox 1813- 1890. Henry was from Hampstead Norris and became an Iron founder and moulder. Harriet was born in Woodspeen.

These people are buried in Newtown Road Cemetery.
