Transciption: | EDWARD BLUNDY THE LATE MR E. BLUNDY The Primitive Methodists of Newbury have lost in Mr. Blundy, of Carlisle-terrace, a useful member, and the Sunday School its visiting teacher, in which capacity he rendered exemplary service. On the Sunday previous to his illness he spoke at the Mission service at Shaw. He was laid to rest by less than a fortnight, and was buried on Saturday at the Cemetery — a service being held previously in the Primitive Methodist Church, - in addition to many of the teachers and scholars being present, several members of the Rechabites also attended. Wreaths were sent by the teachers and by Mr. Arthur Smith, his employer. On Sunday morning a memorial service was held, the Rev. J. Neville preaching, his subject was "A Divine Cordial," based on the text, "I had fainted unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord." (Psalm XXVI 13) The deceased leaves a widow and one little boy. Newbury Weekly News 15 May 1902 Buried 10 May 1902 from 3 Carlisle Terrace. Bk 1899 p 048 no. 7579 Not in Ms P |
