Transciption: | SAMUEL ERNEST GREEN THE LATE MR. S.E. GREEN —The funeral of Mr. S. E. Green took place on Friday afternoon last at the Cemetery, the interment being in the same grave as his eldest son who died only last January. The Rector, Rev. L. R. Majendie, officiated. The mourners were Mrs. Green. widow, Percy, Robert Green, sons, Miss Lily Green, daughter, Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Attewell, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. H. Mathews, brother-in-law, also present at the graveside were ... Then follows a list of attendees and those who sent wreaths, including The Newbury Brewing Co.
The coffin was of polished elm and brass furniture, and was inscribed "Samuel Ernest Green, died March 17th. 1902, aged 46." The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr. L.Cleeves, of Bartholomew-street. Newbury Weekly News and General Advertiser - Thursday 27 March 1902 |
