Primrose Marjorie Kezia Prince

1926-1927

Primrose Marjorie Kezia’s birth was registered in the June quarter 1926, in Newbury, Berkshire. She was the daughter of Charles Reginald and Alice May Prince (nee Smith) who were married in 1924. (Marriage registered in Newbury)

Primrose died aged 11 months, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 7th May 1927.

Primrose’s family:

Her father Charles Reginald was born on the 17th September 1895, in Winterbourne, Berkshire, the son of Hyram/Hiram and Selina Prince (nee Goddard) who were married in 1877 (marriage registered in Wantage)

Primrose’s mother Alice May was born on the 17th February 1901, in Newbury, Berkshire, the daughter of George and Annie Kezia Smith (nee Bailey) who were married in 1897 (marriage registered in Newbury)

Primrose’s siblings were:

Norman John, born on the 5th June 1928

Roy Thomas George, born on the 26th May 1931

The 1939 Register records Charles as a Farm Carter, living in North Heath Farm Cottages, Winterbourne, Berkshire with Alice and their two sons.

Electoral Registers also record Charles and Alice living in North Heath in the 1930’s. By 1945 they were recorded living at 72 Piper’s Lane, Thatcham, Berkshire and by 1951 they were living at 101 Mill Lane, with Alice’s father George Smith.

Charles died on the 7th February 1979, he was buried in Shaw Cemetery

Alice died on the 5th November 1995, she was also buried in Shaw Cemetery
