Harriet Lait
1819-1883
Harriet Tooley was born on the 1st January and baptised on the 7th January 1819 in Bicester Oxfordshire she was the daughter of Richard and Ann Tooley
Other children of Ann & Richard were:
Francis Blewitt baptised 5/5/1808
William baptised 1/11/1809
Elizabeth born 13/2/1812 baptised 21/3/1812
Twins: James & John born & baptised 8/4/1815 James died 16/4/1815 & John died 3/5/1815
Charlotte baptised 8/5/1821
Harriet married Samuel Henry Lait (a Cooper) in Bicester Oxfordshire in 1841 and they had the following children:
Samuel 1846-1850
George 1848
James 1850
Lucy 1852
Samuel 1855-1866 (buried in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 13th January)
Sarah Ann 1861-1862 (buried in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 7th March)
Henry 1858-1867 (buried in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 3rd August)
Fred 1863
The family moved to Newbury before George was born in 1848, they lived in Jack of Newbury Street until at least 1861 moving to Granger’s Yard by 1871 and Milton Court by 1881.
Harriet died aged 65 in 1883 she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 3rd November.
Samuel Henry died aged 74 in 1888 he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 21st July.
