| Transciption: | MR. JOHN FIDLER, for 25 years the landlord of the “King’s Arms”, and more recently of the “White Hart” Hotel, died yesterday at the age of 72. We believe the deceased formerly held the position of huntsman of the Craven country in the time of Mr. Villebois’ mastership. Mr. Fidler was widely known, and had gathered around him a numerous connection, who, by his death, deplore the loss of a genial friend. Newbury Weekly News 13 January 1881 Mrs. P. page 63 Code Ch 19 (B) Died 12 January 1881 aged 75. Age in register is given at 73. Buried 17 January 1881 Also his wife Mary died 31 January 1878 aged 65. |
