Recorder's Notes | Jeremiah Aldridge: Born & raised in Great Bedwyn, Wilts where he married Mary nee Cogan, a local woman, in 1833. Both signed the register with their mark. 7 daughters & 1 son, lived in Brook St, Great Bedwyn & Jeremiah was a Boatman. 1851 & 6 census records, Mary living alone with the children in Brook St. Jeremiah, unrecorded in 1851, was a labourer in Bristol Docks in 1861. A Jeremiah Aldridge was acquitted of larceny in 1854 in the Wilts. Assize Court. Living in Newbury by the 1871 Census working as the Lock keeper and living with Mary & daughter Fanny, a Pupil Teacher, in the Lock Shutter's Cottage. Source: Ancestry records. |
