Leonard Applegate

Leonard was born c1879 in Newbury, he was baptised on the 17th September 1879 at St Nicolas Church Newbury and was the son of Phillip & Ellen Applegate (nee Hurren) who were married on the 5th March 1865 at St Mary’s Church West Brompton Middlesex. Phillip and Ellen were both born in Notting Hill London and Phillip was a Hairdresser. Sometime between 1872 and 1873 the family moved to the Broadway Newbury

Leonard’s siblings were:

Charles Phillip 1865   Thomas Reuben 1867   Daniel c1869   Duncan 1870   Ada Ellen c1872   Herbert 1873   Walter 1875   Mabel Kate c1877   George 1881   Maud c1883 

Leonard died aged 17 months in 1880 he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 28th May. His brothers Herbert and George were also buried in the Newtown Road Cemetery.
