THOMAS SHEPPERD

A LOCAL PREACHER'S FUNERAL.

—On Friday last, Mr. Thomas Shepperd, who for 60 years had been a Wesleyan local preacher, was laid to rest in the cemetery, his funeral being attended by his lay colleagues.

Mr. Shepperd was the oldest local preacher in the Newbury circuit, and was also for many years chapel keeper.

By his death an almshouse in St. Bartholomew's Hospital becomes vacant.
